There are a lot more rules facing public corporations these days, and the costs of being regulated are increasing for businesses. More companies expect to spend more money on compliance this year than they did last year, and less than half expect any benefits. In fact, some of them are complaining that enough is enough. I feel no sympathy. Left to run rampant, business bottom-line focus and greed have basically screwed investors, the public and the environment.
