Terry Pratchett's Night Watch
I finished the latest Terry Pratchett novel a few days ago. I purchased it for my wife for Christmas, so she had first dibs on it. The novel was typical Terry Pratchett - great! Check the link above to read an excerpt. This novel chronicles the creation of the City Watch as we've come to know them. Commander Vimes is transported through time to when he first join the Watch. It's a funny, touching, and serious read. Pratchett as usual, keeps you glued to the page. Enjoy!
