Toronto Comic Arts Festival Coming to Toronto March 29th. This one has Beguilding written all over it. When I used to buy comics, Beguilding used to be the place to be. I met Neil Gaiman there once - got him to sign my Sandman books. ;-) The festival will be held at the Trinity St. Paul Centre, and has a cheaper entrance fee. I'd like to go to this one if there is anyone willing to go with me (exhibition only). Hello? Hey ... where is everybody?

Inner Cow

This has got to be one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. Researchers cut holes into the sides of cows and insert an cannula, which allows access to a live animals stomach. These holes are so big, you can actually see what's going on inside -- literally, reach into the stomach of a cow. Cows stomach have millions microbes that aid in digestion, and surprisingly, cannulated cows are usually the healthiest of the herd. You would think that walking around with a hole in your stomach would be bad for you, but apparently not. Some farmers apparently keep cannulated cows in their herd so they can serve as microbe donors to sick cows. Just bizarre. [Source: Oddity Central ]

If you're going to pirate movies online, why go for the crap Hollywood puts out when you have options like those listed at BitTorrent site, C homsky T orrents.org ? The site describes itself as a gathering place for torrents with progressive and radical content. As for now, it preserves a special place for the work of American dissident Noam Chomsky, as the domain name suggests. I didn't know Chomsky was a dissident -- but I suppose that's one way of describing him in the current American environment.
