    This is a hoax Andy. A couple of giveaways. Notice at the bottom of each page where they give phone numbers. The voice phone number has wierd characters so that you cannot call anyone. Only the fax has a legible number. If this is a legitimate business, why do they make it difficult for you to call them?

    Second, in the FAQ page, there is a question about dog fights, and the answer they give is:

    "My dog is very high strung and often gets into fights with other dogs. I can control this now, but what happens when fights break out on the island?Fights break out occassionally, but this is not a real issue, because eventually, the dogs learn to get along. Every now and then some dogs gang up and kill and then eat another dog, but this is just natural, and it's okay for it to happen now and then, but normally this is not the case."Oh, ok, it's possible that if I send my dog to this place, it could get eaten by other dogs. So, we as consumers are supposed to be encouraged by this?

2016 Social Progress Index

The 2016 Social Progress Index has just been published. Unlike GDP, that measures a country's economic output, or the UN's Human Development Index that measures a country's living conditions, the SPI drops economic output, and looks at the factors impacting basic needs, well-being and opportunity. In case you don't know it, we're doing really good here in Canada. We sit at number 2 on this scale, behind Finland. Our friends south of the 49th -- not so good -- coming in at 19. Canada ... number 2! Happy Canada day, eh?
