Booming Hong Kong
Those that ran away from Hong Kong when China got the island back from England must be kicking themselves now. They should have seen it. The city has billions of hungry consumers waiting on the mainland -- and that's what China delivered on Jan. 1st. It opened up trade with the island to give it preferential treatment over other trading partners in the world. Hong Kong is already giving Japan a run for its money, and is also giving China a boost in the international trading community. Check out the article in BusinessWeek magazine.
