Microscopic Astronauts
There are trillions of microbes in your colon, trillions on your hands, and trillions in your mouth. There are more microbes on Earth than people -- in fact, there are more microbes than cells in your body. With NASA planning trips to the Moon and Mars, and studying the effects of long term zero gravity on humans -- you'd think they might also want to do such studies on microbes as well. In fact, they are -- and the results are quite surprising.
