The Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science and Technology (CCWEST) has their annual conference targeted for June 10-13, at Brock University. This year's conference follows the themes of:
professional development
work, life, balance
"paying it forward or securing our future."
Although women make up more than half of the post secondary population, their numbers in Engineering is only around 23%. It's expected that by 2010, there will be a shortage in the labour force of engineering skills -- and where else to make up that shortage than the untapped ranks of the female population. Now how do we convince young girls that science and math isn't really hard, and that they can do it too?
