Outsource: Competing in the Global Productivity Race
This is a bit of old news, but I thought it important enough to mention. Back in September, JP Morgan Chase & Co. decided to cut short their 10-year, US$5 billion services contract with IBM -- 18-months into the deal. After JP Morgan Chase merger with Bank One Corp., they decided that Bank One had advanced IT assets that they shouldn't just hand over to IBM. So they decided to bring it all back in house. While there have been quite a few all-inclusive IT outsourcing deals making the news of late, this one is a refreshing and smart change. While selective outsourcing to manage internal gaps is a smart thing to do, outright outsourcing is not. Read more at InformationWeek.
